SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 17, 2012) – The 12th annual Trigild Lender Conference, set for October 17 – 19, 2012, at the Omni Hotel San Diego, will bring two high profile keynote speakers, as well as a full slate of industry leaders to San Diego, who will all share insight and ideas on the evolving financial and commercial real estate industries.
Headlining this year’s event – themed “Lighting the Future” – are Robert Guest, business editor for The Economist, an acclaimed weekly focusing on international politics and business news, and Sam Chandan, Ph.D., president and chief economist for Chandan Economics, who will address the “State of Commercial Real Estate.”
Guest, who oversees the international business publication’s global business coverage, previously covered American news and politics as The Economists’ Washington correspondent and Lexington columnist. He also covered Africa for seven years and is the author of “The Shackled Continent” and “Borderless Economics: Chinese Sea Turtles, Indian Fridges and the New Fruits of Global Capitalism.”
Chandan is known for his compelling commentary on monetary and fiscal policy issues and is noted in the commercial real estate industry for his keen knowledge of capital and credit markets and the relationship between the economy, regulation and market performance.
Aimed at lenders, special services, legal counsel and loan buyers, the conference will include highly valuable, current and thought-provoking information, as well as offering networking opportunities, said Judy Hoffman, conference founder and chief operating officer of Trigild.
“With lenders seeking answers to the ever-changing marketplace, this event will bring together industry specialists to talk about the state of the economy and the latest strategies for maximizing loan recovery,” she said.
With a special focus on non-performing loans, topics include “Changing Times, Changing Tactics,” Trigild’s annual update on major changes in the commercial nonperforming loan recovery; updates on receivership and bankruptcy laws and a session on exit strategies. There will also be a series of panels featuring “real world” case studies and a program featuring senior managers talking about challenges they have faced in the ever-changing market.
